MEET YOUR HOSTS, Francine Quinn and Stephen Govan
Francine, a native of Philadelphia, and Stephen, born and raised in the Arlington/Falls Church area, first met in 1999 when Francine came to work at Wachovia (now Wells Fargo). We formed a Team in 2003 and have been working together ever since. We soon discovered a mutual interest in the American Classic Car hobby and also a passion for supporting our Troops.
We decided in 2008 to create and host our own Car Show. We wanted the show to not only reflect our fondness for what we believe to be the greatest cars ever made but more importantly we wanted it to be a celebration of the Freedom we enjoy in this great Country of ours.
We know that this Freedom has endured for all these years mainly because of the sacrifices made by our Military men and women and their families. We know that Freedom does not come free.
So we dedicated our show specifically to Fisher House, based nearby in Bethesda, which serves as a "home away from home" for families of patients receiving medical care at major military and V.A. medical centers. These Lodging Houses allow the family members of our Service Men and Woman to stay free of charge while visiting their loved ones in the nearby hosptial. There will soon be over 50 Fisher Houses across the U.S. and all of them rely on private donations not only for construction but for the free lodging privileges.
We are very proud to say that we have been able to raise over $45,000 for Fisher House as a result of our first two shows and we are looking forward to growing that total this year. We thank all of our participants, sponsors, donors, and volunteers. Your support is what has made this a reality.
Please join us this October 9th in Tysons Corner for another celebration of "Fast Cars & Freedom".
